The Cura Check Framework: Six Numbers, Three Pillars
The framework is deliberately narrow. There are hundreds of things you could measure, and a small handful that carry most of the predictive weight across a lifetime. Blood pressure and the lifestyle factors you can track yourself. The rest comes from a single blood draw — see which blood test to actually get.
The three pillars
Cardiovascular. Scored with the AHA PREVENT equations, which use age, sex, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney function, and smoking to estimate 10-year and 30-year risk. It's the most mature of the three.
Dementia. No single validated score dominates the way PREVENT does for the heart, so this pillar is read as a modifiable risk-factor profile: blood pressure, hearing, vision, activity, alcohol, and metabolic health.
Cancer. Largely driven by screening status and a short list of broad exposures — smoking, alcohol, weight — plus specific inherited conditions where the intervention is unusually well proven.
Where the framework has real edges
A good risk score is built on the data most consistently available across large populations, which means some genuinely important risks sit outside it. The three deep dives below cover exactly those cases: a cholesterol particle standard panels skip, an inherited cancer condition with a randomized-trial-proven intervention, and the fastest moving science in early Alzheimer's detection.
The deep dives
Cardiovascular
The cholesterol number your standard panel doesn't check
Lp(a) is genetically set, unmoved by diet or exercise, left off standard panels — and raises heart risk on its own.

The condition where a daily aspirin cuts cancer risk
A randomized trial found daily aspirin lowered colorectal cancer rates in people with Lynch syndrome for two decades after they stopped.
